Boyes will most likely make the team. Trocheck should start in the AHL it worked great for shore. It can't hurt let him develop a little more.

I agree I think he should start in the AHL, but if someone gets hurt he should be the first guy called up. He's gonna be a regular in the lineup next year, which I'm very much looking forward to.

Yes start him in SA then bring him up later. There's no rush here, this team isn't expected to go anywhere so there's no need to rush this kid if they are unsure hes ready for the nhl

Trocheck is great, but I'm sorry he is not my #1 call up. I have been more impressed with Howden. If he doesn't get a spot right off the bat, he should be the first call. Boyes has been more than good so far in camp. I was shocked when I saw him make the move he made today to score. Barkov looks legit as HELL right now. Matthias also looks very good. Speaking of Matthias, I wonder what's going to happen with him. I think if we sign Boyes, it assures Matthias plays center. He does not want to play wing, he has made this apparent. So with Barkov, Matthias, Goc, Gomez, Shore, Trocheck, Bjugstad.. something has to give. Boyes is a winger and doesn't affect this at all. We also have Grimaldi down the road..

I have also been very pleased with Mottau, Gilroy, and Clark. Markstrom has looked really good as well, and I am in love with Madore. Interesting we have signed a veteran goaltender, yet. We shall see what happens with this situation. It's also clear that Jovo will not be ready, as he dos not look to be up to game speed, yet. I really like Josh Brown. He's looked sharp. So you might be asking yourself how I would line things up assuming things go the way I think they might go....

Fleischman-Barkov-Huberdeau
Bergenheim-Matthias-Versteeg
Kopecky-Gomez-Boyes
Crabb-Goc-Upshall

Campbell-Gudbranson
Weaver-Kulikov
Robak-Petrovic

Markstrom
Houser

Obviously the goaltending situation will change. If Shore can play the wing, who sits? Crabb? Can't sit Upshall, he makes too much to just sit. Decisions, decisions. Maybe he's used as trade bait for a goaltender? Who knows? I think Petrovic starts the season in the top six. If not, then maybe Mottau. This is obviously if Jovo isn't ready to go. We shall see folks. Good to be back. The offense looks decent. With all that you have guys like Butler, Winchester, Howden, Trocheck, Bjugstad.. by the way, I think Bjugstad makes the roster if he isn't hurt. But since he has a concussion they will hold off.

Thanks for the input, buddy. From what I'm hearing there are several guys that have a chance at making this team, and Trocheck is definitely one of them. However, the numbers game does not bode well for him out of the gate. If Howden had any hands at all he'd be a no brainer, but at this point he is not a lock. Also, if the season started today, Shore would likely be the odd man out. Crabb is a lock because of his two-way game. Upshall is a lock because of his salary. Gomez could be anywhere from 2nd to 4th line center.

If everyone is healthy, there likely isn't room for Bjugstad, Howden, or Trocheck. However, regarding injuries it would depend on the type of role they need filled that would dictate who gets called up. To this point Trocheck has shown he has the best hands of the bunch, and that alone could vault him to the top of the list. I don't think him being "ready" is a concern at all for the team.

He is legit. No question. Everyone in the organization loves him. He's been flourishing, playing with men, for two years as a 16-17 year old. Very skilled. Great vision. Good skater. He has done nothing but impress since camp has started.

A lot of red flags starting to emerge from Bjugstad and Howden. They better mature and give us back sommethjng or else its yet again 2 first rounders ending up becoming busts. Not to mention how much it sets the organkzation. Can we hit on one fucckjng pick one of these years? I don't think that's asking too much.

Because I watch him while he's on the ice. He sees the ice so well, makes brilliant passes, and makes everyone around him better.

Good enough to make Huberduea a 35 plus goal scorer?

We hit on Huberdeau. We hit on Barkov. Gudbranson is going to be very improved judging by his condition this off season. Bjugstad and Howden are both going to be great NHL players. Once guys like Gomez and Goc play out their contracts here, more spots will open up for sure. Bjugstad will have a permanent spot here next season. Howden I think will as well.

Easily. You should see the way he and Fleischman play together. It's ridiculous. Flash looks like a kid again.

Um....Huberdeau? You know the Calder Trophy winner? I consider that a "hit."

A lot of red flags? Bjugstad has 11 pro games and Howden played last year because of the injury debacle. Howden has been one of the consistent stars this month, by the way. Would you know that? Your sure seem to pretend to know a lot from afar when those of us that are there know the truth.

The season hasn't even started yet, buddy. Does your negativity ever take a day off? Do we have to endure this forever? I've never known a fan of any team that despises their own team like you do. And they're never coming to Hartford.

When the Panthers start succeeding, will your downer hyperbole subside?

Ummm I'm not sure about him or Huberdeau too be honest. If I had to guess I'd say yes to both but you never know. If one of them gets hurt we're screwed.

Huberdeau is the best player this team has ever drafted in their history. Took em awhile. Hope everyone is right about Barkov.

No point in even talking about Bjugstad while he has his concussion. He is obviously not going to start the season here unless he's healthy for the pre season and dominates. I don't see that happening at this point. Howden may start in the AHL but, like I said, he looks great right now and I think he will be the first call up. If Versteeg or Bergenheim, who was skating with the young kids and looked a bit out of sync, can't make it, Howden makes it.

Sean and steeger will make it. Howden can't put the puck in the net so there's no use for him on the opening roster.

Versteeg is visibly winded after a hard skate. Bergenheim is taking an extra step and looking down at the puck too much. When you aren't a negative person all the time you notice the small things. Obviously their conditioning will improve, but I wouldn't be shocked if one of them didn't make opening night. And I'm telling you besides Matthias and Gudbranson, Howden is the best skater in camp.

Pre season game one: Win 6-3. Two goals for Gudbranson, two for Upshall, one each for Boyes and Howden. Some mighty fine performances in game one. Barkov looks a bit nervous in his debut.

Barkov assisted on Kulikov's tying goal!!! I'm pretty sure it was the first assist not second. Nice job baby!!!!
